The securityNET S/FTP Category 7 dry outdoor cable is an advanced solution designed for outdoor installations. It provides excellent performance and reliability in demanding environmental conditions thanks to its special PE outer sheath. This cable is an ideal choice for applications requiring high bandwidth and stable connections. The S/FTP (shielded) twisted pair cable is suitable for installations in computer networks, telephone systems, CCTV systems, and similar applications exposed to electromagnetic interference.
Application
Cables designed for outdoor dry-environment applications are engineered for use outside buildings in locations not exposed to direct moisture. The use of conductors made from 100% pure solid copper, combined with appropriate cable construction, ensures stable transmission performance and mechanical durability. This solution helps maintain electrical properties under varying temperature conditions and mechanical stress. These cables are well suited for routing along building facades, in cable trays, and within protective installation conduits.
Category
Category 7, corresponding to Class F, was developed for highly demanding network installations. This standard enables data transmission speeds of up to 10 Gb/s while providing high resistance to interference. In accordance with the standard, Class F cabling operates at frequencies of up to 600 MHz, ensuring excellent signal stability and precise transmission performance.
This solution is widely used in advanced LAN networks, industrial environments, and IP CCTV monitoring systems. Category 7 cable is designed for connecting network devices such as switches, servers, and IP cameras. To maintain the declared performance parameters, the maximum length of a single transmission channel should not exceed 90 meters.
Shielding
The S/FTP twisted pair cable is equipped with an overall braided shield and individual foil shielding for each wire pair. The combination of braid and foil provides exceptionally high shielding effectiveness across a wide frequency range.
This cable is intended for installations in environments with very high levels of electromagnetic interference, as well as where maximum transmission stability is required. It requires careful installation, proper shield continuity, and correct grounding. It is used in critical installations with high cable density and stringent EMC performance requirements.
Sheath
The PE (polyethylene) jacket used in twisted pair cables is primarily intended for outdoor installations. This material offers excellent resistance to moisture, UV radiation, and varying weather conditions, allowing for long-term cable operation outside buildings.
Cables with a PE jacket are stiffer than their PVC or LSZH counterparts; however, they provide superior mechanical and environmental resistance. Due to their flammable properties and lack of low-smoke characteristics, they are not intended for indoor building installations.
CPR class
Euroclass Fca is the lowest fire reaction classification level in the CPR system. Cables in this class do not have confirmed performance parameters regarding flame spread, heat release, or smoke production.
Cables classified as Fca are not approved for permanent building installations covered by CPR regulations. Their use is limited to temporary, outdoor, or other installations that are not subject to building fire safety requirements.
In projects subject to CPR requirements, the use of cables with at least Eca classification is mandatory. The selection of the appropriate Euroclass should be based on project documentation and local fire safety regulations.
PoE
The PoE++ Type 4 standard, compliant with IEEE 802.3bt, enables power delivery to network devices with up to 90 W while simultaneously transmitting data. Power is supplied using all four wire pairs (4PPoE), allowing support for high-power devices without additional power sources. The maximum transmission channel length is up to 100 meters.
PoE++ Type 4 is used to power advanced Wi-Fi access points, high-power CCTV cameras including PTZ and heated models, access control systems, information kiosks, multimedia terminals, Video VoIP devices, and other active equipment requiring approximately 71–90 W of power, depending on the power class.
Color
A color primarily used in technical and outdoor installations. In the case of PE jackets, it provides enhanced UV resistance due to the carbon black content, which reduces material aging during prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Warranty
By choosing securityNET cables, you are investing in solutions designed for long-term and reliable performance in network installations. These products are covered by a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty, confirming the quality of the materials used and the control of the production process.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects and workmanship faults revealed during use in accordance with the intended application and applicable installation standards.
Packaging
Cable supplied on a standard 500 m reel. This packaging format is intended for larger installations, enabling efficient deployment of longer cable runs.
