PoE standards compliance: data and power over a single cable

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology is increasingly used in everyday building installations. Sending PoE applications, i.e., powering via twisted pair cable while simultaneously transmitting data, reduces the amount of cabling installed in the building. PoE is most often used in building security systems. We distinguish 3 types of applications: PoE, PoE+, and 4PPoE. securityNET tool-less RJ45 plugs are compatible with PoE, PoE+, and 4PPoE applications.

Plug termination does not require the use of a crimping tool

The modular design of the tool-less plug was created with the aim of maintaining proper transmission parameters. This applies to Category 6 and 6A cabling, where it is necessary to better isolate the cable wires, preventing crosstalk at the near end (NEXT parameter). The plug’s design allows for cable wire termination on IDC connectors without the use of a crimping tool.
